The Most Asked Disc-Jockey Questions

Q: How long in advance should I book my DJ?

A: You'll want to book a reputable DJ as soon as you book your church or hall. Most of our DJ's are booked anywhere from six months to two years in advance. If you wait too long, you may be forced to use another company who will send a less than professional DJ who was available only because no one else wanted him.

Q: Will my DJ be properly dressed?

A: All of our Dj's wear tuxedos to formal events, a suit and tie to semi-formals, or clothing that will fit your occasion. (Example: we could wear a Hawaiian shirt to a luau)

Q: When will my DJ arrive at my affair?

A: Your DJ will arrive 60 to 90 minutes prior to your affair to ensure that he will be set up and ready before your guests arrive at no extra charge.

Q: Do you have a back-up system?

A: Absolutely. We're the only DJ company that carries the extra expense of having a 24 hour a day answering and paging service, plus a staff of stand-by entertainers and technicians to cover an emergency situation. You will have a qualified DJ and a working sound system at your wedding reception. WE GUARANTEE IT!

Q: Will the DJ talk to my Maitre'd or event coordinator before my affair?

A: Your DJ will coordinate all of your events with your Maitre'd or banquet manager prior to your reception. Plus, our DJ's will work with your photographer, videographer, caterer and YOU to ensure that your reception runs as smoothly as possible.

Q: Will my DJ contact me to go over my party plans?

A: Your DJ will contact you at least one week prior to your affair to review all of your event specfics, including the proper pronunciation of all introductions. ceremonies and events, and your music selections.

Q: Can you provide us with references?

A: Yes we can. We're recommended by some of the best catering halls in the Deleware Valley. To view all of our references and to see what our clients have to say about us visit our testimonials page by clicking here.

Q: How do I know if I’m paying too much or too little for a DJ?

A: The going rate for dj's in the area can charge between $150-$250 per hour, but pricing can change due to availablitiy, experience, day of the week, afternoon vs. evening, and type of event. The inexperienced DJ has to charge lower rates just to get work. The big DJ warehouses charge lower rates because they provide a quantity of new, cheap, inexperienced DJ’s. Just keep this in mind…you always get what you pay for. And you don’t want to find out why during your affair, do you?

Q: Are there and hidden fees or fine print that I should know about?

A: Some DJ’s will charge you extra for travel time, set-up and breakdown time, extra speakers, or even his tuxedo rental! WE WON’T! Your price quote includes all of the above, plus continuous music from start to finish.

Q: Will my DJ have a wide variety of music for me to choose from?

A: Yes. All of our DJ’s carry an enormous selection of music ranging from Oldies, Big Band, Motown, Club Dance, Rock, Country, today’s hits and more. We’ve got music to please every crowd.

Q: Can I send a list of songs that I want played to make sure the DJ brings them?

A: You sure can. By using our printable request form found on the wedding/Mitzvah page you may fill out any special song requests that you may have. You may also include a listing of any special announcements that you would like to have made during your affair. You may also send us a list of songs that you do not want played during your affair.

Please note that your DJ can only play an average of 17 songs per hour.

Q: Does the DJ take requests?

A: Yes, within reason. We’ll stay within the guidelines that we discuss during our meeting before your party.

Q: Will my DJ play music at the right volume?

A: Of course he will. Easy listening music is played at a moderate volume during your cocktail and dinner hour to allow family and friends to talk and enjoy themselves. Later, during the dancing part of your affair, the volume is adjusted to an appropriate but comfortable level and only will be raised if requested by you.

Q: Will the DJ use banners, signs or contests to promote their company during my affair?

A: No. Banners and signs are gaudy, and may appear in your pictures. But we do encourage group participation, and we can furnish giveaways for contests at sweet sixteens and bar or bat mitzvahs. We will not use your party as a commercial!

Q: Will my DJ take breaks?

A: Now way! We provide continuous music from the beginning to the end of your affair.
